Here is a pretty little centerpices idea. Bring varied, commonplace cylinder vases into beautiful harmony with an easy ribbon treatment. You can also use tin cans and wrap the ribbon around those. The medium to small size metal coffee cans would be perfect. Choose ribbons in various widths and colors that match your palette, in satin, grosgrain, or both. Cut the ribbons 1/2 inch longer than the circumference of the vase. Wrap around vase, side by side or layered, using double-sided tape to secure. Source

Fall Wedding~ Flower Girl Basket Option
The traditional thing to do is to have your flower girl toss flower petals at the wedding. However this is not the only thing you can do. If you are having a fall themed wedding, you can fill her little basket with leaves. This is a great option because they are free and they are festive. But if you don’t like the mess of real leaves you can always get the silk ones from the flower store and they will still be perfectly stunning, just a little cleaner.
Oslo Wood Invitations
I have never seen wooden invitations before I came across Olso Press Products, and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first. However, now I am totally sold and I think they are simply beautiful. There is such intricate detailing in the wood and it is something totally different and unique.
The company was formed in a very interesting way. The designers Glenwood & Jen where searching for invitations for there own wedding. They wanted something fun and unique but could not find what they where looking for so they decided to design their invitations there selves. The name comes from the family cat. They named the company after the cat because his long white fur makes him appear glamorous and regal; he is still a playful, curious, and sometimes shy creature. This was the perfect representative for there product! While the designs are very regal they also have a bit of a playful edge about them. I love then and think they are definitely worth checking out! Check it out!
Tribute to Loved Ones
The Idea: Create a tenderhearted tribute to loved ones—living and deceased—by displaying framed heirloom photographs on your reception tables. It’s a great way to personalize your affair and spark conversations. Simply ask friends and family to lend you their old photographs (think black-and-whites of Uncle Jim out on the lawn or a snapshot of a great aunt aboard a cruise ship), have them framed, and then place them at tables where your guests will recognize the subjects.
This idea comes from Brides.com and I absolutely love it! It is away to pay a special tribute to everyone you love dearly. It is also away to make love ones who passed become part of you special day.
Fun Bachelorette Invitations
These are some of the cutest bachelorette invitations that I have ever seen. The design on the top is a sassy black-and-white silhouette, which screams look at me! I love everthing about these even the striped pattern in the background. However the best part is they come with scratch off cards that hide a dare that someone must perform and a dozen Bachelorette Bash Pins. This is a great way to liven put any party! Sassy invitation!
Lights, Camera, Take Action!
One really great way of getting the photos of everyone at the reception is to provide disposable cameras. Also if you were looking for a way to cut down the photography costs having this is the way to do it. You get photos of everyone at only a fraction of the cost! You can also place a little card or table tent next to the cameras that say this cute little saying: “Take a few pictures then pass it on. Leave it on the table when the exposures are all gone!” also include a little thank you with the saying and you are all set! It’s quick, easy, and cheap!
Fall Wedding Ring Bearer Pillow
Embossed velvet leaves, made with a rubber stamp and an iron, dress up a silk ring pillow.
Tools and Materials
Velvet
White single-sided medium-weight fusible cotton interfacing
Scissors and pinking shears
An iron
A custom rubber stamp (use the template, linked below, or a leaf-press set)
18-gauge wire
White craft glueEmbossed Velvet Leaf Ring Pillow How-To
1. Cut both velvet and interfacing to be 1/2 inch larger on all sides than rubber stamp. With an iron on medium-high, fuse interfacing to wrong side of velvet, holding iron in place 5 to 10 seconds to bind securely.
2. Lay fused velvet face down on the stamp. Spray interfacing with water. Press iron against fabric 10 to 15 seconds, using firm circular motions.
3. Cut out leaves (use pinking shears for notched edges of birch leaves). For large leaves, glue 18-gauge wire (use thinner wire for smaller leaves) to back along major veins, starting about 1/2 inch from top. Clip off extra wire at base of leaf (or leave a stem to use leaves in a bouquet), and bend wire gently to shape leaf. Hand-sew wire in place at the bottom of the leaf, and hand-sew bottom of leaf to pillow.
Pretty Flower Favors!
1. Fill a 3 5/8-inch-high acetate cylinder with candy.
2. To make flower, cut a 9-by- 30-inch piece of tissue paper. Fold, accordion style, in 5-inch-wide layers. Cut petals in smaller end; unfold and lay on flat surface.
3. Place cylinder on paper with bottom about 1 inch from uncut end, and roll; tape sides and bottom with double-sided tape. Tie ribbon above top of cylinder.
4. Gently peel petals down to open flower. If you use a shorter cylinder, reduce height of paper; for a multicolored blossom, wrap a second layer of paper around cylinder after first is secure; secure with ribbon. Source
The History of the Almond
I have always wondered why almonds where apart of every wedding I have ever been to. I am not found of the almonds myself, and have only met a few that are. So I always wondered why it was a tradition to have them. Well I found my answer on Martha Stewart and actually they have a lot of symbolism and a great story you can tell your guests. You could always include the history of the almonds on a little card attached to the favor. That way everyone will understand their meaning. Here is the history.
“The use of almonds as favors has evolved in significance over the centuries. The ancient Greeks, and later the Romans, were fond of honey-coated almonds. Sweetened almonds later found their way to the celebratory tables of medieval Europe , when they came to be known as dragees. By 1850 the first commercially produced dragees, coated with colored sugar syrup, appeared. In Europe today, dragees are still fixtures at weddings, christenings, and confirmations.
Because the almond is a seed, it represents fertility, abundance, and fruitfulness. When a bitter almond is used in a dragee, the hard sugar coating produces a piquant contrast of sweet with bitter; the dragee thus represents an important part of the wedding vow: “for better or for worse.” Just as the couple has pledged to support each other in good times as well as in bad, those in attendance symbolically honor the marriage vows by partaking of the almonds.”
