Potted Place Card from Martha Stewart.com

plant

Both place card and favor, these tiny terra-cotta pots with a dome of velvety moss are spare yet elegant against a pristine white table — perfect for a simple wedding.

To make one, place a small piece of crock in a 2-inch-diameter terra-cotta pot, fill with potting soil, and top with a mound of moss. Insert a birch twig into the center of the mound. To secure a name card to the twig, slip the card behind a twig node, or make a horizontal slit in the twig with a utility knife, and slide in the bottom edge of the card.

playtent

Wedding receptions are designed to accommodate adults. Therefore, children can get restless really easy, especially if the children are younger in age. So, give them something to do! Set up a play tent that matches the colors of you wedding and fill it with play clothes and props. Place a big mirror inside or outside the tent and watch the kids go crazy all night. You can also place games, blocks, and a comfy rug inside the tent to make it a great kid getaway!

Let Your Wedding Take Flight!

feathers

Here is a cute idea from Kathy and Keith in Dallas Texas. Place a white ostrich feather on each chair. Then attach a tag to each feather that states, “At the kiss of the bride and groom, please wave your feather for a flight into happiness.” This creates a lovely experience that gets everyone involved in the wedding ceremony.

Let’s Drink to Table Numbers!

bottle numbers

Finding table numbers that are not going to fly away at an outside wedding can be a challenge. That is why I created these wine bottle labels. These wine bottle labels serve double duty at a wedding. They tell the guests where to be seated as well as treating them to a nice glass of wine. The best thing about these table numbers is that even if the guests drink the whole bottle, they are not going to fly away!

DIY:
1. Soak your bottles in a full sink of warm water, or you could use a tub to do many at a time. Soak for about an hour, then peel off original label. Scrub off remaining glue.
2. Choose from one of the Bridal Party Tees Wine Label design templates. You can edit the table number text in Microsoft word to make as many as you need.
To recolor in Microsoft Word: Click on the design to activate it then click on the format tab and then the recolor drop down menu. You can pick custom colors to recolor the background or the design and then you can change the live text to match.
3. Print out your chosen wine label template on 8.5×11, white full label sheets. You can buy these at any office supply store.

4. Cut along the dotted line.

5. Peel off back and place on the bottle in the desired location.
