Roses are Red and Thongs are Too!

undie bouquet

Okay, sometimes when going to a bachelorette party you are left asking yourself, “What do I get the bride?” Everyone is going to get some type of lingerie type item. No, surprises there. So, why not make your gift really special. You could give the bride a bouquet of undies. You heard me right! I said a bouquet of undies. This bouquet is a dozen of Hanky Panky low-rise thongs made to look like the long-stemmed flowers. These will last much longer than real roses. So, for all of you guys that may be reading, this would make a good Valentine’s Day gift as well. Hint, hint…

Fan style programs are a unique and fun idea but they can cost a lot of money to buy! So, we have made this template to help you out. Here is a easy to use fan template. Just click on the design and write in the information. You can change the text to anything you like. Once they are exactly the way you like them simply print them on card stock. You can then punch a whole in the bottoms and add ribbon. Another option is to use an eyelet. This will make your program more stable. Super easy and a lot cheaper than buying them!

My Wedding Pics!

mywed1

Okay guys, here are the pics from my wedding that I have been promising you for so long! Let me start by saying everything went so well. Well… except for the unplanned weather. We were suppose to get a dusting of snow. Instead we got like 6 inches. It made for beautiful pictures but not so beautiful driving. Luckily everyone made it safely and the wedding turned out beautifully!

The colors for the wedding were red, white, and black. Therefore, the something blue did not exactly fit into the color scheme. To solve this problem, I did blue rhinestones with our initials on the bottom. I also added a little something special to my bouquet. It was a locket which had pictures of our belated grandparents inside. It really meant a lot to us to include them in the ceremony. We also had memorial candles at the ceremony that our mothers lit before they took their seats. We also took these candles to the reception to sit on the head table.

The church was so beautiful that we only did a few decorations. We both thought that the architecture in the church was too pretty to cover up!

We did two different centerpieces at the tables. Half had the floating candles and the other half had a simple display of red roses in a square cube base. Instead of wedding favors we made a donation to The American Cancer Society and to the Heart Foundation in honor of our grandparents.

New Years has come and gone. So, what’s next you ask? Valentine’s Day of course. There is not a holiday out there that fits so well with the wedding theme as Valentine’s Day. It represents love. Plus, I really like it because it is usually associated with chocolate and sweets. Yum!!!! Below are some very yummy sweets that I think you all will love!

New Years Reflection

happy new year

At the end of each year, I like to sit down and reflect on the year that has just past. This helps me remember everything and take time out to improve myself. So, I went through all of the past blogs of 2008. I picked the ones that I liked the best or the ones that really represented the past year. Did you have a favorite that I missed? If so, let me know!

New Years Bachelorette Bash!

gold

The Hostess with the Mostess had a great decor design for a New Years Eve Party. As I was reading this post my wheels started turning and I had a wonderful idea! I was thinking that it would be a blast to have a New Years themed bachelorette party. Just think about it…she is starting her new life in the new year, champaign, staying up all night, and tons of fun. Sounds like a great bachelorette party to me. You could start all the girls out with a few cocktails at home complete with gold and silver decor. Then head out on the town in a great party dress! I love the gold one pictured below for a fun New Years night. The advantage of doing a bachelorette party on New Years is that there is a ton of festivities and things to do. If you really wanted to go all out, fly into New York for the party and watch the ball drop in Time Square. That is sure to be a night to remember. If you are not all about the huge crowds in New York, then local festivities are usually lots of fun. You could even go party hoping. The options are endless. But one thing is for sure, it will be a great time she is sure to remember!
