This is a Cake!?!

When I saw this cake I had to take a second look because it looked so much like pillows. I thought to myself “Why are there pillows in a cake gallery?” Well silly me, after taking a second look I realized it was cake. I am completely amazed at how flawless and perfect this cake is. But perfection always comes at a cost. This cake is by Mike’s Amazing Cakes and the cost is $1,800. Serves 120, mikesamazingcakes.com.

Personalize Your Flower Girl Basket or Ring Bearer Pillow!

heart

I like this heart because I think it is a great way to spice up a flower girl basket or a ring bearer’s pillow. This heart is an easy accessory to either of these items and you can get it in a silver or gold finish. All you have to do is to tie it on. Plus it is really reasonable. It is $3.95 and the engraving is free! That is perfect because the engraving is usually the most expensive part. Plus after the wedding you an always add a little O-ring and attach the heart to a keychain or necklace. So it is easily repurposed. See this heart!

Wedding Crayons

wedding crayons

If you are having little ones attend your wedding this is a must! I thought this was the greatest idea. This coloring book and crayons set will help keep the children occupied during the wedding and reception. I have a 17 month daughter and she would definitely need this to make it through a long ceremony. Plus it is a cute little gift from you that they are sure to enjoy.

Flower Boxes

flower boxes

Martha Stewart Weddings is a spectacular site that allows you to great a plethora of ideas. I am an avid reader of the site and I always find things I want to try. Whether you are a do it yourselfer or just want ideas this site is a great resource. Here is a table setting and centerpiece idea that I just love!

Boxes topped with flowers make a beautiful centerpiece; a table number is embroidered onto ribbon encircling the largest box. Inside, the stems sit in water bottles stabilized by crumpled paper. Favor boxes, which contain nonpareils, double as place cards.

Tools and Materials
Quilling paper (enough to wrap around lid and overlap slightly)
Small boxes
Double-sided tape
A peony or a few ranunculuses
Utility knife,
Plastic flower tube
Nonpareils

Flower Boxes How-To
1. Have a calligrapher inscribe each strip of paper with a guest’s name in pink gouache (an opaque ink). Tape paper around edge of box lid.
2. Using a utility knife, cut an opening in the center of the lid.
3. Cut off top of flower tube so it’s just shorter than box. Add a bit of water to tube. Insert flowers into tube; insert tube into lid.
4. Fill box with nonpareils (leave room for flower tube); close box.

Personalized Entrance

personalized entrance

Personalize the entrance to your ceremony or reception in an instant with store-bought wooden initials. To display, loop wide satin ribbon around each letter. Knot ribbon at least one foot above letter, leaving ends long enough to create a bow (for letters that aren’t easily looped, hot-glue ribbon to letter’s back, and tie into a knot); hang on an over-the-door hanger. Tie ribbon ends into a bow and trim with pinking shears. Attach self-adhesive felt pads to backs of letters to protect door. This will add a touch of class and personalization to the entryway!

What’s Inside:
1. water
2. cookies
3. cheese and crackers
4. chocolates

Easy Centerpiece Idea

centerpiece

This centerpiece is simple and stunning. It is sure to make a dramatic effect. All that they did was submerged phalaenopsis orchids in a cylinder filled with water. The stems of the orchids were anchored with black pebbles inside vases, and then topped them with floating candles, which provided a gorgeous glow. This idea is easy to make yourself and can be altered to meet your needs, just change out the type of flower and the color of the pebbles and you have a centerpiece perfect for any wedding.

Chocolate and Strawberry Cream Collection

I love this set from Wedding Star. The Chocolate and Strawberry Cream Collection is absolutely beautiful and I love how it would reflect the colors of the wedding. If your colors are pink and chocolate brown then this is a must have. This set includes ring pillow, flower girl basket, guest book, pen holder, cake server set, toasting flutes and garter. All of which match perfectly. Plus if you only want a few of the items they are also sold separately. I am not sure if I would want the complete set or not but I do know that the pillow, flower girl basket, guest book, and pen holder would be a must for me. What do you guys think? Do you like the colored accessories or would you keep the traditional white?
