Free Table Number Templates

I love the variety you can have with table numbers. I tend to lean more to the numbers spelled out in a beautiful script. However, it is hard to find table numbers that are set up that way. That is why I created these numbers for my wedding. I hope you like them. Here are the numbers from 1-30. They are in 4×6 format so, they should easily print on your computer. You can also copy and paste the numbers into Microsoft Word and print from there. Enjoy!

Mexican Wedding Cookies

mexican wedding cookies

Mexican wedding cookies hold a special place in my heart. I remember my grandmother making them all the time for my grandfather. She used to tell me how she would send these sweet little goodies to him when he was in the army and posted in Germany. She said they were his favorite. And who can blame him! This  traditional dessert is made with walnuts, pecans, or almonds, and topped with yummy confectioners’ sugar. These served as a sweet reminder of my grandmother’s love for my grandfather, but they are also a sweet way to thank guests for sharing your wedding day. To give them as favors, tuck two into a tiny clear box along with a note imprinted with a fitting sentiment or your wedding date. Type on a computer, print on colored vellum, then cut the messages into tiny strips.

Ingredients

Makes 20

  • 1 cup almonds, plus 40 more for decorating
  • 2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 ounces (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 1/4 cups sifted confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract
  • 1 large egg white, beaten

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread 1 cup almonds on a baking sheet; toast until fragrant, about 12 minutes. Let cool.
2. Put toasted almonds, flour, salt, and cinnamon in a food processor; process until almonds are finely chopped, about 1 minute. Set aside.
3. In the bowl of a mixer fitted with the paddle, cream butter and 1 cup confectioners’ sugar on medium until pale and fluffy, about 4 minutes. Add vanilla and almond extracts, and mix until combined. Add the almond mixture, and mix on low until dough just comes together.
4. Roll dough into twenty 1 1/2-inch balls; place on ungreased baking sheets, spaced 2 inches apart. Flatten each ball slightly with your palm.
5. Toss 1 tablespoon beaten egg white and remaining 40 whole almonds in a small bowl to coat. Press two almonds into each cookie.
6. Bake cookies until lightly browned around the edges, about 25 minutes. Transfer baking sheets to a wire rack; let stand until cool enough to handle.
7. Place remaining 1 1/4 cups confectioners’ sugar in a medium bowl. Roll warm cookies in sugar, reserving any remaining sugar. Return cookies to baking sheets. Let cookies cool 15 minutes, and roll again. Store in an airtight container up to 1 week.

Ten Tips to Calm a Stressed Out Bride

stressed

Planning a wedding is a big task and can leave a bride feeling frazzled.  So, before your best gal turns into bridezilla help here calm down with these ten tips.

1. Spa Day: Take your  stressed out gal to the spa! Nothing calms a person down more than a nice day of pampering. Pedicures and facials are sure to sooth her back to her happy go lucky self.

2. Join a Yoga Class: Exercise has been proven to calm the nerves. Yoga is particularly good for stress relief because the  ultimate goal of yoga is to reach complete peacefulness of body and mind. This helps you relax and manage stress and anxiety.

3. Buy Her a Book: If your gal pal is an avid reader, nothing calms the nerves better than escaping into another world with a book. Suddenly you are in another realm of stress free bliss.

4. Get a Massage: Not much explaining needs to be down here. Just let the masseuse massage the tension away.

5. Have a Girls Weekend: Sweep your little bridezilla away for a girls weekend. Make the weekend consist of activities that the bride loves to do. If she is loves art, take her to the museum and then head to a paint your own ceramics shop. Music lover, take her to a concert of one of her favorite bands. I think you get the idea. Just make it special and have it revolve around her interests.

6. Help Her Out: This is simple but will do wonders to relieve stress. Find out what she has left to complete for the wedding and help her do it. If she has to visit vendors, ask if she wants you to tag along. Sometimes an extra opinion will do wonders to calm the nerves about important choices.

7. Laugh It Up: Tell jokes and make her laugh. Not the funny type, then go to the local comedy club. Laughing has been proven to help relieve stress. Plus, it is just good fun.

8.  Try an Art Class: Take an art class together. This is a fun and relaxing time, no worries just creating masterpieces. You could also visit a paint your own pottery store. This is my favorite place to go, because of the ease. You simply go in, pick your piece, and paint it. The store will handle the clean-up, and the firing of the piece.

9. Be a Good Listener: Sometimes when your stressed you just need someone to talk to. Let her talk about everything that is stressing her out. Just talking about everything will probably relieve a lot of stress instantly.

10. Meditation: Involves sitting in a relaxed position and clearing your mind. While it does take some practice, it has been proven to be amazingly effective in short term stress reduction and has proven long term health benefits. Learn more here.

10 Ways You Can Help The Bride from Bridesmaid.com

helping

If you are asked to be a bridesmaid or maid of honor, your first question may be what can I do to help the bride? Well…I found this great post from bridesmaid.com that answers that question for you! Enjoy!

As a bridesmaid or a maid of honor at a wedding, your ultimate objective in the wedding and the wedding planning should be to help the bride in every way possible. You’d be surprised how many women forget their important role and focus more on themselves during the wedding process than they do the bride. It’s an easy trap to fall into, but it’s one that you should try to get out of immediately should you find yourself falling into it. In order to help keep your attention on the bride, here are some ways in which you can really help the bride out before the wedding and on the wedding day in order to be a bigger help than even she may have expected you to be.

1. Address and mail all invitations.
2. Handle all of the phone calls involved in the planning.
3. Take her to a beauty salon/spa before the wedding.
4. Make yourself known to the guests so they can ask you the questions that they shouldn’t be asking the bride.
5. Help out the family. If the family knows they can depend on you for answers, the bride won’t be so stressed out.
6. Find out what kind of music she wants and book it yourself. Have all dealings with the musicians be through you.
7. Arrange for the wedding day transportation. This includes to the airport for the honeymoon.
8. Speaking of honeymoon, consider helping the bride pack for the getaway.
9. Give the groom tips on how to calm down or flatter the bride. Trust me, he doesn’t always know.
10. Help to make sure things run on time. If something is running late, you should be the one to go the extra mile and talk to the priest, managers of the venue, DJ, etc.

Wedding Coin Ceremony

coin pillow

The wedding unity coins ceremony was originally a Latin American tradition that symbolizes a pledge that the Groom makes to his new wife. There are thirteen gold coins to represent Christ and his 12 apostles. The coins signify that the Groom recognizes his responsibility as a provider, and pledges his ability to support and care for his bride. Acceptance by the bride means taking that trust and confidence unconditionally with total dedication and prudence. A friend or relative (usually the purchaser), traditionally presents the unity coins to the priest. The priest then blesses the coins and hands them to the bride who places them in the groom’s cupped hands at the beginning of the ceremony. The coins are then placed on a tray and handed to an assistant to be held until later in the ceremony. Near the end of the ceremony, the box and coins is given to the priest who places the unity coins in the box and hands them to the groom. The groom then pours the unity coins into the bride’s cupped hands and places the box on top. This represents his giving her control as his mistress of all his possessions. (Sometimes their hands are tied with a ribbon for this portion of the ceremony.)
